This Day in Sports History June 8th

On this day in sports history for Monday, June 8th, we look back to 1990 where the first day of the World Cup in Soccer took place in Italy. It was the second time Italy hosted the World Cup. At that time it was the only country besides Mexico to do so.
It was the 14th World Cup, and the Italians made the semi-finals and it's opponent was the reigning World Cup Champions, Argentina. The other semi-final saw the Germans battling England.
